Samsung WEP470

Samsung WEP470 is a cheap headset and it makes no pretensions otherwise. Measuring just 1.7 inches long by 0.75 inch wide by 0.43 inch thick, Samsung WEP470 is blocky and rectangular and wont call too much attention to itself thanks to its size and dull looks. Right on the front of the headset is the multifunction call button. It sits just above a thin line that houses the LED indicator. The button is big enough and is easy to press. The volume rocker is on the left side while the charger jack and power switch are on the right.

The dedicated power toggle makes it easier to power the headset on and off, instead of having to hold down the multifunction button like on most other headsets. When you turn the headset over, youll find a simple, small earpiece that sits just at the opening of the ear. Theres a rubber coating around it so it feels comfortable. We would have appreciated different sizes of ear bud covers for different size ears. Even though Samsung WEP470 does fit comfortably, it doesnt feel very secure. We definitely recommend using the included optional ear hook for additional stability.

We paired Samsung WEP470 with the Apple iPhone 3G. The pairing process was very smooth and we didnt even need to enter the PIN pairing code this may depend on your phone, though. The call quality was quite good for the most part. On our end, we heard our callers just fine, but we did encounter intermittent static buzz. Still, their voices sounded natural and volume was good. On their end, callers could hear us loud and clear most of the time. This was especially true in a quiet office environment, where background noise was minimal.

In a moving vehicle, though, callers said they could hear a bit of background hum. Similarly, it didnt cut out all the environmental noise when we were in a busy cafe. Samsung WEP470 also does not do well with wind noise conversations were close to impossible in particularly windy conditions. However, in most normal everyday situations, Samsung WEP470 did just fine with noise and echo canceling.

Callers also said voice quality was natural and almost of landline quality in the best situations. Samsung WEP470 features the normal capabilities to answer, end, and reject calls, as well as last number redial, call mute, and the option to transfer calls from the headset to the phone and vice versa. It has a rated battery life of 6 hours talk time and 8.3 days standby time.

Indonesia blocks YouTube access over anti Koran film

Indonesia people block youtubeAt least four Indonesian firms providing Internet services have blocked access to the YouTube Web site for carrying a Dutch lawmakers film that accuses the Koran of inciting violence, an information ministry official said on Tuesday.

The move follows a government ban on broadcasts of the film by Geert Wilders, leader of the Dutch anti-immigration Freedom Party, which alternates images of the September 11, 2001 attacks and other Islamist bombings with quotations from the Koran.

Titled "Fitna," a Koranic term sometimes translated as "strife," it also shows an image of the Prophet Mohammad primed to explode and says the rising number of Muslims in Europe threatens democratic values.

Sukemi, the information ministry spokesman, said telecommunication firms PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom), PT Telekomunikasi Selular (Telkomsel) and PT Exelcomindo Pratama Tbk, and Internet provider Indonet had blocked access to YouTube.

Telekom had also blocked social networking site MySpace and is still looking for other sites and blogs that have posted the film to block them, Eddy Kurnia, vice-president for public and marketing communication, said in a statement.

Wilders film urges Muslims to tear out "hate-filled" verses from the Koran and starts and ends with a cartoon of the Prophet Mohammad with a bomb under his turban, accompanied by a ticking sound.

The film has sparked protests in Indonesia, the worlds most populous Muslim nation and a former Dutch colony.

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has urged his predominantly Muslim nation not to use violence in protests against the film.

The Dutch government has distanced itself from Wilders views, and the Dutch upper house of parliament has condemned what it called efforts to denigrate Islam and promote hatred.

Dedicated memcache preview now available on Google App Engine

Yesterday we announced that dedicated memcache is in Preview. Now you can purchase in-memory data caching capacity exclusively for your application, cache more data and drive up cache hit rates. With higher cache hit rates, dedicated memcache can also reduce Datastore costs and make your application faster than ever. Dedicated memcache has been one of the top 100 features requested by App Engine customers.

With the 1.8.2 release, App Engine now has two classes of memcache service. Dedicated memcache is available in addition to the shared memcache service that has been offered on App Engine for years. No code changes are required when moving to dedicated memcache. Compared to the shared memcache service, dedicated memcache provides developers control over the cache space and performance available to an app.

Bobby Murphy at Snapchat, the rapidly growing mobile photo sharing application, said “We love dedicated memcache and its already made a big impact on our business. Besides being able to reduce our costs substantially, our hit rates are up to the high 80s.”

By default, applications will continue to use shared memcache, and it will continue to be free. Starting today, billing enabled applications can select dedicated memcache on the App Engine admin console’s application settings page. With dedicated memcache, applications purchase a fixed capacity of RAM and operations-per-second just for that application. This gives developers the ability to plan for the needs of their applications. At this time, there is one class of dedicated memcache available:

Price12 cents per GB per hour
Self Service Capacity1 to 20 GB
PerformanceUp to 10,000 operations per second per GB for items < 1KB

If you need more than 20GB, please contact us at cloud-accounts-team@google.com.

In addition to dedicated memcache, with the 1.8.1 release we added memcache operations per second monitoring for all memcache classes to the App Engine dashboard.

Stay tuned for more improvements to the memcache service over the coming months. As always, we’re interested in hearing where you’d like us to take caching on App Engine via the comments and the App Engine feature request tracker.

Lenovo to buy Motorola Mobility from Google for 2 91 billion

Lenovo Group said on Wednesday it agreed to buy Google Incs Motorola handset division for $2.91 billion, in what is Chinas largest-ever tech deal as Lenovo buys its way into a heavily competitive U.S. handset market dominated by Apple Inc.

It is Lenovos second major deal on U.S. soil in a week as the Chinese electronics company angles to get a foothold in major global computing markets. Lenovo last week said it would buy IBMs low-end server business for $2.3 billion.

The deal ends Googles short-lived foray into making consumer mobile devices and marks a pullback from its largest-ever acquisition. Google paid $12.5 billion for Motorola in 2012. Under this deal the search giant will keep the majority of Motorolas mobile patents, considered its prize assets.

Shares of Google climbed 2.6 percent to about $1,136 in after-hours trading. Google Chief Executive Officer Larry Page said that Google would be best served by focusing on smartphone software rather than devices.

Reuters reported the deal earlier on Wednesday, citing sources familiar with the deal.

The purchase will give Lenovo a beach-head to compete against Apple and Samsung Electronics as well as increasingly aggressive Chinese smartphone makers in the highly lucrative U.S. arena.

In 2005, Lenovo muscled its way into what was then the worlds largest PC market by buying IBMs personal computer division. It has powered its way up the rankings of the global smartphone industry primarily through sales on its home turf but had considered a U.S. sortie of late.

"Using Motorola, just as Lenovo used the IBM ThinkPad brand, to gain quick credibility and access to desirable markets and build critical mass makes a lot of sense," said Forrester Research analyst Frank Gillett.

"But Motorola has not been shooting the lights out with designs or sales volumes in smartphones. So the value is simply in brand recognition to achieve market recognition faster - and to expand the design and marketing team with talent experienced at U.S. and Western markets."

Rise of the Chinese

The deal is subject to approval by both U.S. and Chinese authorities.

Chinese companies faced the most scrutiny over their U.S. acquisitions in 2012, according to a report issued in December by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States. Analysts say political issues could cloud the Motorola sale, especially with Lenovo trying to seal the IBM deal at the same time.

(Also see: Lenovo to buy IBMs low-end server business for $2.3 billion)

Lenovo will receive over 2,000 "patent assets" as part of the transaction, the companies said, but it remains unknown which will change hands and whether they might be subject to extra scrutiny from regulators.

For Motorola, Lenovo will pay $660 million in cash, $750 million in Lenovo ordinary shares, and another $1.5 billion in the form of a three-year promissory note, Lenovo and Google said in a joint statement.

"The acquisition of such an iconic brand, innovative product portfolio and incredibly talented global team will immediately make Lenovo a strong global competitor in smartphones," Lenovos chief executive, Yang Yuanqing, said in a statement.

In two years, Chinas three biggest handset makers - Huawei, ZTE Corp and Lenovo - have vaulted into the top ranks of global smartphone charts, helped in part by their huge domestic market and spurring talk of a new force in the smartphone wars.

Although Huawei and ZTE have made some inroads in the United States, where the Chinese companies continue to grapple with low brand awareness, perceptions of inferior quality and even security concerns. Lenovo has until now stayed out of the U.S. market.

(Also see: Lenovo opens first manufacturing facility in US)

In the third quarter of last year, ZTE and Huawei accounted for 5.7 percent and 3 percent of all phones sold in the United States, respectively, trailing Apples 36.2 percent and Samsungs 32.5 percent, according to research house IDC.

Huawei declined to comment on the Lenovo deal on Wednesday. ZTE did not immediately offer comment.

Globally, Lenovo ranked fifth in 2013 with a 4.5 percent market share, according to IDC. Thats up from 3.3 percent in 2012 and virtually nil a couple years before that.

(Also see: More than 1 billion smartphones shipped in 2013, a third by Samsung: IDC)

Step back

For Google, the sale represented a solution to a persistent headache as Motorolas losses widened in recent quarters. It also showed Google is willing to step back from the handset arena and throw its weight behind device makers that propagate its Android software, Kantar analyst Carolina Milanesi said.

"It all points to Google thinking in the short run that theyre better off betting on Samsung and keeping them close," Milanesi said. "And of course now theyre enabling a second strong runner (Lenovo) in the Android ecosystem."

In 2012, analysts saw Googles Motorola acquisition as primarily a way to secure the companys trove of patents amid the technology sectors increasing legal battles - rather than a bona fide push into the handset business.

Many industry observers were surprised that Google did not immediately sell the hardware division after the deal closed, choosing instead to operate Motorola a separate company.

It did sell Motorolas cable television set-top box business to Arris Group Inc for $2.35 billion at the end of 2012.

In a blog post on Wednesday, Googles Page highlighted the strategic choice in selling the Motorola handset business.

"The smartphone market is super competitive, and to thrive it helps to be all-in when it comes to making mobile devices," Page wrote. "This move will enable Google to devote our energy to driving innovation across the Android ecosystem, for the benefit of smartphone users everywhere."

Lenovo is being advised by Credit Suisse Group while Lazard Ltd advised Google on the transaction.

Alleged Nexus 5 retail box leaks out

A new leak has popped up showing what is claimed to be the retail packaging of the Nexus 5. Anyone surprised? The packaging itself is rather ho-hum, showing off a render of the device that matches what surfaced on Google Play yesterday. What really catches our attention, though, is what appears to be a render of the device in white.

More specifically, the box seems to show off a two-tone version with a white back and black front. While black and white variants are nothing new, this is the first we have seen of the Nexus 5 in an alternate color scheme. Previous leaks have showcased the device in black alone.

With retail packaging already seemingly assembled, the Nexus 5 might launch with multiple color options, which would be a nice touch. Phandroid

The next time you purchase a meal while 30,000 feet in the air, take a closer look at the device being used by the flight attendant. If you’re flying with Delta Air Lines, chances are you’ll notice your transaction has been completed on a Windows Phone.

Delta Air Lines announced today that its global team of more than 19,000 flight attendants has started using Nokia Lumia 820 handsets powered by Windows Phone 8 to interact with customers. These in-flight, Wi-Fi connected devices will leverage an Avanade point of sale (POS) experience on the Microsoft Dynamics for Retail mobile point-of-sale platform.
The move to this Microsoft-driven solution is part of a continued effort by Delta to upgrade cabin equipment and improve the in-flight experience for customers.

Under the hood of Google Maps 5 0 for Android

(Cross-posted from the Official Google Blog)

Yesterday we introduced Google Maps 5.0 for Android with two significant new features: 3D interaction and offline reliability. In order to create these features, we rebuilt Maps using vector graphics to dynamically draw the map as you use it. Building a vector graphics engine capable of achieving the visual quality and performance level you expect from Google Maps was a major technical challenge and enables all sorts of future possibilities. So we wanted to give you a closer look under the hood at the technology driving the next generation of mobile maps.

Vector graphics
Before diving into how Maps uses vector graphics, it may be helpful to understand how maps were created before. Previously, Google Maps downloaded the map as sets of individual 256x256 pixel “image tiles.” Each pre-rendered image tile was downloaded with its own section of map imagery, roads, labels and other features baked right in. Google Maps would download each tile as you needed it and then stitch sets together to form the map you see. It takes more than 360 billion tiles to cover the whole world at 20 zoom levels!

Now, we use vector graphics to dynamically draw the map. Maps will download “vector tiles” that describe the underlying geometry of the map. You can think of them as the blueprints needed to draw a map, instead of static map images. Because you only need to download the blueprints, the amount of data needed to draw maps from vector tiles is drastically less than when downloading pre-rendered image tiles. Google Maps isn’t the first mobile app to use vector graphics—in fact, Google Earth and our Navigation (Beta) feature do already. But a combination of modern device hardware and innovative engineering allow us to stream vector tiles efficiently and render them smoothly, while maintaining the speed and readability we require in Google Maps. Just try it out and see for yourself!

See the difference between image tiles (left) and vector tiles (right) tilted to show 3D buildings.

One map, many perspectives
Using vector tiles instead of image tiles gives Maps the flexibility to re-draw the same map from different perspectives using the same set of data. Zooming is one example of this at work. If you magnify an map image tile by 2x, lines such as roads and text would get twice as wide and appear blurry. As a result, we had to constrain Maps to 20 fixed “zoom levels,” each one twice as close as the last. Every time you zoomed in further, you’d need to download a completely new set of image tiles. It took time to load new data over a mobile data connection, and would fail when you lost your connection in a subway or large building.

Compared to image tiles (left), vector tiles (right) keep lines and labels crisp as you zoom.

With vector graphics, you no longer need to “round” to the nearest zoom level and then download all the tiles for that level. One vector tile has the underlying vector data (or blueprints) to draw the map at many different levels of scale. So when you zoom, the map stops when your fingers stop, and roads and labels always stay crisp. This same technique powers the new 3D map interactions: tilt, rotate and compass mode. Just like with zooming, Maps uses the same vector data to draw the map from any angle or direction as you tilt or rotate.

We can also display entirely new levels of detail that weren’t possible with flat image tiles. For example, in the 100+ cities where we have 3D building data, each building is drawn in 3D using a polygonal building footprint and heights for different parts of the building. And with tilt and rotate, you can see them from a variety of different angles.

Reading the map
Just like other map features, labels are dynamically drawn so they continue to face you and stay legible if you rotate the rest of the map or use compass mode. Maps also “chooses” the best labels to show you based on several factors. You’ll notice labels fade in and out as you interact with the map so that the most useful ones appear and the map never gets too cluttered.

See the difference between rotating maps with static labels (left) and dynamic labels (right).

Vector graphics also allow us to draw additional data on the map more clearly. For example, traffic or transit lines no longer block the labels beneath them. We can also draw the same map in different styles — like “satellite view” where the roads are translucent over aerial imagery, or Navigation’s “night mode” where a darker palette helps your eyes adjust quickly in the lower light.

Previously, map features like labels and traffic could conflict (left) instead of blend seamlessly (right).

Offline reliability
Vector graphics also enable another significant new feature: the ability to continue viewing maps even when you have poor—or no—network connections. Because each vector tile works across multiple zoom levels, it requires more than 100 times less data to view maps across all zoom levels than before, allowing Maps to cache much larger areas of the map on your device.

With this first version, Maps proactively caches map data for the places you use Maps the most—where you’re actively using it as well as places for which you search or get directions. Then when you’re plugged in and connected over WiFi, caching happens automatically. Near your frequent places, you’ll get detailed vector tiles for city-sized regions so you can see every road labeled. Further away, you’ll have less detail but will typically have towns and highways labeled for miles. We’re continuing to work on these algorithms, so you’ll see improvements over time.

Offline rerouting
With Google Maps Navigation (Beta), you’ll also see the benefits of additional caching with offline rerouting. This feature is only possible because Navigation caches not only map data but also data like turn restrictions for the areas surrounding your route. You’ll still need to be connected when you first start a trip to download and cache your route. But this way, even if you take a wrong turn after losing your connection, Navigation can use the cached data to get you back on your way. We will be rolling this feature out gradually over the next few weeks.

This is just the start, and we’re really excited about all the possible ways to use vector graphics technology for the next generation of Google Maps. So please stay tuned!

Update (12:47pm PST): Tweaked the description of the difference between image maps zoom levels.

It’s also got 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, a Tegra 4 processor powering the tablet as well as about 13-hours of battery life. Not bad for a tablet.

Additionally, since this is a Transformer tablet, it does have a keyboard dock, which doesn’t come with the tablet, but it’s about an additional $135. But we’ll have the link down below with the tablet link if you’re interested. The TF701T is one of the best spec’d tablets out there right now. Up there with the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition. But it’s a few hundred less. It does have Android 4.2.2 on board, along with ASUS’ custom skin. But it’ll probably see Android 4.4 – KitKat rather soon. As ASUS is usually pretty good with updates. So definitely not bad for only $400.

ASUS has had great success with the Transformer line of tablets. It’s really what got them into the Android game. This holiday season, they have a tablet for everyone. There’s the Nexus 7, the MeMO Pad FHD 10, and the ASUS Transformer Pad TF701T, all hitting different price points, which is good to see. For those looking for a great last minute gift, you’ll love the ASUS TF701T. Grab one today before it’s too late. If you do pick up a ASUS Transformer Pad TF701T, be sure to let us know in the comments below how you like it.

Updates to Google Docs app for Android Offline access and improved tablet experience

There may be times when you don’t have an Internet connection on your Android device, but you still want access to a file you’ve saved in Google Docs. Now you can select any file in Google Docs to make it available offline. So regardless of whether you’re connected to the internet, you’re always connected to those files.

Even better, Google Docs automatically updates your offline files when you’re on Wi-Fi. You can also manually update files anytime you have a data connection by opening the file or tapping ‘Update’ from the Offline section of the app.

Were Listening

Here at Google, user feedback helps us improve our products. While we love to hear praise on whats working well, the honest direct feedback on whats not working is just as valuable and motivating. Wed like to share a couple of stories about recent product changes that were shaped greatly based on the feedback you have provided in the Google Mobile Help Forum. Hopefully, youll continue to raise your voice and help us build better and more useful products.

iGoogle for Android and iPhone

In January, the high-end version of iGoogle for Android was discontinued because we felt it was too slow, and users were, instead, redirected to the standard Mobile iGoogle site. At the time, we thought youd welcome the improvements to speed and stability. We humbly found out that we were wrong. One thread in the user forum received over 350 replies and almost 18,000 page views! Heres what some folks had to say:

"Its not just that the standard mobile verision of iGoogle is weak, its vastly inferior to the optimized version for iPhone..." - mccarrabba

"The mobile version is not good enough. Why should I have to suffer because other mobile devices offer crappy browsers? This is a horribly short-sighted decision." - tewha

Well, we heard you loud and clear. Our team read each of the forum posts, and listened to why the standard version did not meet your needs. Last month, we brought back iGoogle for Android and iPhone and made it better than ever. The new version is faster and easier to use, and theres support for tabs and more of your favorite gadgets. We also now support the in-line display of articles for feed-based gadgets, so you can read article summaries without leaving the page.

Were glad that so many of you voiced your ideas. iGoogle is back and better, and it seems like folks are pretty stoked:

"Personally, I could have cried. And I mean that in a good way. OMG-about time!! Im leaving on vacation and was for sure I was going to have to take my laptop. Tabs actually work! My gadgets work! Its back! Hip Hip Hooray!" - ktigger2

Google Maps for mobile
Soon after we launched Google Maps for mobile 3.0 and Google Latitude on four platforms (Android, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, and Symbian S60), we received some helpful feedback on where improvements could be made and problems fixed.

Keeping in mind the input of many faithful Help Forum posters, we released two updated versions for Windows Mobile and Symbian S60 users in April (version 3.0.1) and July (version 3.2). These versions added new features, like Layers, and included some fixes and new ways to use Maps for mobile that were among the most requested by you. For example, the My Maps feature request received over 2,000 votes on our Mobile Product Ideas page. We also used specific Help Forum conversations to tweak behavior, such as the backlight timeout on Symbian phones, and to fix issues, like copy and paste for Windows Mobile phones.

In June, we also updated Maps in Android Market to Maps 3.1, introducing popular feature requests like Transit directions and Google Search by voice. Weve received lots of positive feedback about pushing out these features:

"Not only is this an awesome update, but what an awesome way to distribute!" - matt

In addition to the iGoogle and Maps for mobile updates, your feedback also led to the development of other exciting new features -- for example, labels for Gmail and direct YouTube uploads on Android. Your ideas and requests help us to drive and prioritize new products and features, so please post your thoughts on the Help Forum. As you continue to show us what you care about, well continue to listen as we work on our mobile products.

How to fix Error 498 on Google Play Store Solutions

Sometimes when we try to download apps from Google Play get unexpected errors that may have multiple causes.

One is the Error 498,which does not give many clues about its origin. Is summarized as " Error 498 has occurred while was communicating with the server." To resolve this error there are several ways, you have to keep trying until something works for you.

Method 1: Removing temporary data

Go to Settings (or options) >> Applications

  • Select "All" tab

Find Google Play Store

  • Remove Data
  • Clear Cache

Give back and now seeks Google Play Services

  • Remove Data
  • Clear Cache

Reboot your phone and try again to download your application

Method 2: Removing Gmail account

Go to Settings >> Accounts >> Google

  • Delete your Google account
  • Reboot your device

Login to Settings >> Accounts >> Google

  • Make your account again

Try again to download your application

Method 3: Using the Factory Reset

If neither of the first 2 methods worked, you can try to make a Factory Reset .

This is done as follows:

Login to Settings >> Backup and Restore

  • Factory Reset
  • Reset Device

Expect Android do its work, the phone will reboot.
Return to start

If any of these three methods will be served (or some other method), leave it in the comments.

App Engine SDK 1 2 5 released for Python and Java now with XMPP support

Today we are releasing version 1.2.5 of the App Engine SDK for both Python and Java, our first simultaneous release across both runtimes. Were excited about the great new functionality in this release ... including XMPP!

XMPP Support

XMPP (or Jabber as it is sometimes known) is an open standard for communicating in real-time (instant messaging). One of the most popular API requests in the App Engine issue tracker has been support for XMPP, so today we are excited to mark that issue closed with the release of our new XMPP API for both Python and Java SDKs!

Like the other APIs that App Engine provides for developers, XMPP is built on the same powerful infrastructure that serves other Google products. In this case, we take advantage of the servers that run Google Talk. This new API allows your app to exchange messages with users on any XMPP-based network, including (but not limited to!) Google Talk. If youre currently participating in the Google Wave developer preview, you can also use the XMPP API to build bots that interact with your waves.

Weve tried to make the XMPP API as simple as possible to incorporate into your existing Python or Java applications. We use the same webhook pattern that Cron and Task Queue already use: you send outgoing messages with an API call; you receive incoming messages as an HTTP POST. You can read more about the features the XMPP API in our documentation (Python, Java).

Were very proud of our first XMPP release, but theres still more work to do. In the future we hope to provide even more functionality to apps, such as user status (presence) and info on new subscriptions. If you have particular requests or feedback, please let us know.

Task Queue API for Java

Python developers have been processing tasks offline using App Engine Task Queues since mid-June, but until now the feature was not available in the App Engine for Java SDK. The 1.2.5 SDK now includes support for creating Tasks and Queues in our Java runtime.

If youre familiar with the Python Task Queue API, the Java version will look very familiar. We use the same webhooks pattern as with Cron (and now XMPP). The API provides a simple pattern for creating tasks, assigning them a payload and a worker, and inserting them into queues for scheduling and processing. Theres lots of potential with the Task Queue API, so make sure to check out the Java Task Queue Documentation for more details.

Raising Limits for the Task Queue API

With the 1.2.5 release, we are increasing the daily quota for Task Queue insertions to 100K for billing-enabled apps. Ultimately, we will raise the quota for both free and billing-enabled apps, but we hope this intermediate step opens up new scenarios for our developers using Task Queues.

New App Engine Launcher for Windows

Last but not least, were very excited that 1.2.5 for Python now includes a Windows-based version of a useful tool that Mac OS X users have been enjoying for sometime: The Google App Engine Launcher!

Screenshot of Google App Engine Launcher for Windows

This tool simplifies the process of creating new Python projects, testing them locally, and uploading them to the App Engine servers. In addition, were releasing the source code for both Mac and Windows App Engine Launchers as open source projects. Watch this space for more details on where you can find the source, and how Linux developers can use the Launcher as well.

1.2.5 also includes the usual set of bug fixes, tweaks, and API polish. For a more detailed look at all the things that have changed this release, take a look at our release notes and, as always, let us know what you think!

How To Make Siri Read Your Emails and iMessages

Siri is great but can be even better when it can read your emails and iMessages, thanks to iOS 7

One thing is that, sometimes our hands could be so busy its not ready to pick up a call or read a message when a message or an email comes in. However, during this time when our hands are busy, you can get Siri to read your emails and iMessages for you with very minute hand interaction.

To read your email, click and hold the home button to enable personal assistant, and then say, "Read my email". Siri will sk you to unlock your phone if its password protected and then start reading your mail for you.

Siri will announce the name of the sender and the date it was received and then proceed to reading every content of the email.

After reading is completed, Siri will ask you if you want to reply the email. You can say "Yes" or "No". If you say "yes", Siri will take your voice dictation and reply the email for you.

The same goes for iMessage only in this case, you ask Siri to Read your iMessage.

There you go fellas, with iOS 7, Siri became more productive and engaging.
